Week 4 of the 2025 NFL season is upon us and the action will continue on Sunday with a battle of AFC powers already in desperation mode as the Baltimore Ravens visit the Kansas City Chiefs at 4:25 p.m. ET on CBS.

The Chiefs avoided a dreaded 0-3 start to the campaign by downing the Giants in a 22-9 road victory last Sunday night. Wide receiver Tyquan Thornton was integral towards the winning effort and he has stepped up amidst the team’s early-season offensive struggles.

Below, we’ll go over Thornton’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 4.

Fantasy Football analysis: Chiefs WR Tyquan Thornton

Thornton had five receptions for 71 yards and a third-quarter touchdown that established some separation for the Chiefs against the Giants last Sunday night. It was the second straight week that that the fourth-year wideout found the endzone and he has certainly been a reliable hand as KC has tried to sort things out offensively in the first month of the campaign.

What’s notable is that Thornton currently has an average depth of target of 25.7 air yards, which currently leads the league among receivers with at least 50 routes run. As Ryan Kirksey of FantasyPros pointed out, last week’s victory over the Giants was the second straight week where he recorded exactly 169 air yards and it indicates that Patrick Mahomes is turning to him as the Chiefs’ deep-ball threat in the early stages of the season. However…

Start or sit in Week 4 PPR leagues?

Sit. After missing the past two games with a dislocated shoulder, Xavier Worthy was a full participant in practice for the Chiefs this week and will return for Sunday’s showdown. The second-year wideout will presumably take over as Mahomes’ go-to big-play option and with Rashee Rice also set to return within the next few weeks, we could see Thornton’s brief window as an explosive weapon close really soon. Keep him on the bench this week.

Start or sit in Week 4 standard leagues?

Sit.
