Kendrick Bourne start or sit: Week 5 fantasy football advice
We break down the fantasy football outlook of Kendrick Bourne ahead of the 49ers’ Week 5 matchup against the Rams.

The 49ers suffered their first loss of the season this past Sunday, falling to the Jaguars in a 26-21 setback that dropped them to 3-1 for the year. Wide receiver Kendrick Bourne didn’t make much of an impact in the game but may have to step up big for the team in Thursday’s primetime showdown.
Below, we’ll go over Bourne’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 5.
Fantasy Football analysis: 49ers WR Kendrick Bourne
Bourne caught just one of four targets for 17 yards in Sunday’s loss to the Jags. It was a brutal day for him as he dropped the other three targets and otherwise hardly played a factor in the setback. The veteran wideout has played a minor role for the offense in his return to San Francisco so far, clocking just eight receptions for 87 yards through three games. So why is he being discussed here as a potential fantasy option?
Well, someone apparently turned the injury sliders up for the 49ers this season as leading wideouts Ricky Pearsall and Jauan Jennings, as well as quarterback Brock Purdy, will miss this contest after dealing with injuries on a short week. Mac Jones may have no choice but to rely on Bourne in this road matchup, so he could be in line for plenty of targets at SoFi Stadium.

Sit. It’s becoming a guessing game for who’s going to suit up for the 49ers each week and there is some logic behind streaming Bourne this week even with his lack of production this season. But for a Thursday night matchup where we’re not even 100% sure who the quarterback will be, I’ll pass.
