Week 5 of the 2025 NFL season is upon us and the action continue on Sunday with the Washington Commanders heading out west to meet the Los Angeles Chargers at 4:25 p.m. ET on FOX.
Jayden Daniels start or sit: Week 5 fantasy football advice
We break down the fantasy football outlook of Jayden Daniels ahead of the Commanders’ Week 5 matchup vs. the Chargers.

The Commanders will try to get back above .500 in this contest after falling to the Falcons in a 34-27 road loss last Sunday. This game will mark the return of starting quarterback Jayden Daniels, who has been sidelined with injury for the past few weeks.
Below, we’ll go over Daniels’ outlook in fantasy football for Week 5.
Fantasy Football analysis: Commanders QB Jayden Daniels
Daniels has been cleared to return to action this Sunday after missing the last two weeks with a sprained knee. The last time we saw the 2024 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year was in their Week 2 Thursday night matchup against the Green Bay Packers, where he threw for 200 yards and two touchdowns in a 27-18 setback.
In his first two games of the season prior to the injury, the second-year QB had generated 39.8 fantasy points and notably fourth among QB’s in rushing with 85 yards. We’ll see how active he gets on the road against an L.A. team looking to bounce back from a loss to the Giants.
Start or sit in Week 5?
Start. It will be a challenge for Daniels to move the ball through the air as the Chargers have the second-best defensive passing EPA in the league heading into Week 5. However, they have given up the second-most QB rushing yards this season with 164 and that can provide an opening for the QB to still have himself a solid day on the fantasy front. Fantasy managers who have been waiting to put him back in the lineup upon his return from injury should have the green light to start him.
