Kyler Murray is headed to the locker room after a bizarre sequence in Sunday’s game between the Arizona Cardinals and the Tennessee Titans.

With the Cardinals leading 21-6 late in the third quarter, Murray was calling out signals in the shotgun as Arizona faced a 3rd-and-12 situation on the Tennessee 20-yard line. When the ball was snapped, it hit Murray right in the face mask, resulting in a fumble:

As you can see from this clip, it looks as if the ball was snapped early. Murray was not looking at the center when the ball was snapped, and right guard Jon Gaines II was standing upright, appearing to call out a potential blitz as the play began:

Not only did the Titans recover the loose football to take over possession, but Murray then left the field to head to the locker room after first stopping in the blue medical tent. Backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett took over under center when Arizona began its next offensive possession.

Murray was listed as questionable to return due to a foot injury.
