The Mark Sanchez stabbing story continues to take twists and turns after the former NFL QB and current FOX Sports analyst suffered life-threatening knife wounds after allegedly attacking an elder delivery driver in Indianapolis over the weekend. Sanchez was arrested at the hospital on three misdemeanor counts, but he suddenly finds himself in even more trouble.

Indianapolis Police has announced Sanchez now faces a Level 5 felony battery charge, which carries a 1- to 6- year sentence. The Marion County Prosecutor said the investigation into Sanchez continues, and that these are not the final charges he will be faced with just yet. Watch the prosecutor’s comments about Sanchez and announced of the felony battery charge here:

Local TV reporter Angela Ganote said Sanchez posted bail from the hospital but hasn’t been released yet, as TMZ reported. Sanchez’s attorneys have reportedly filed a motion to waive his initial hearing.

There are some nasty images out there of Sanchez’s alleged victim, a 69-year-old oil delivery driver. We won’t link those here, but you can find them by Googling.
