Week 6 of the 2025 NFL season is already upon us and the action will kick off on Thursday night with the Philadelphia Eagles visiting the New York Giants in an NFC East showdown at 8:15 p.m. ET on Prime Video.

The Eagles are undefeated no more, blowing a two-touchdown lead in the fourth quarter against the Broncos to fall in an 21-17 loss this past Sunday. Running back Saquon Barkley had an underwhelming day by his lofty standards and was surprisingly not much of a factor on the ground down the stretch.

Below, we’ll go over Barkley’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 6.

Fantasy Football analysis: Eagles RB Saquon Barkley

Barkley was still a top-15 fantasy back in all scoring formats for the week, racking up 30 rushing yards, 58 receiving yards, and a touchdown reception that gave Philly a 17-3 lead early in the third quarter. However, the Eagles’ approach on offense late was a huge head scratcher as they opted to hand the ball to the superstar running back just once in the second half, resulting in the fewest touches in a game where he didn’t leave with an injury in his entire career. Between this and the ongoing concerns over the passing game, you suddenly have an offense that is going through a bit of an identity crisis early on in the year.

The reigning NFL Offensive Player of the Year was expected to regress a bit after his 2,000-yard rushing campaign last season and we’ve seen that with him going over 80 yards on the ground just once through five games. Something to note is that Barkley is dealing with some knee soreness heading into this matchup, but he isn’t sweating it. We’ll see if he can shine in this NFC East rivalry showdown.

Start or sit in Week 6 PPR leagues?

Start. Even though he’s not putting up peak numbers like he did last year, Barkley has still served fantasy managers well with his presence as both a rusher and a pass-catcher. On top of that, the dynamic star has thrived on Thursday nights throughout his career, averaging 86.4 rushing yards, 40 receiving yards, and a touchdown through five career games. Starting him is a no-brainer, even if the Eagles are still figuring things out on that side of the ball.
