Best fantasy football TE waiver wire pickups for Week 7
Oronde Gadsden II, AJ Barner highlight the top waiver wire tight end targets entering Week 7.

Another weekend of NFL action is in the books and if you can believe it, we’re already a third of the way through the 2025 regular season. While stars like George Kittle and Brock Bowers have been banged up, a new up-and-coming pass-catcher seemingly emerges with a strong effort each week and that was once again the case this past weekend.
We’ll go over some Week 6 performers that you should consider scooping off the waiver wire ahead of Week 7 and as always, we’ll classify a waiver add as someone who is rostered in 60% of leagues at the max.
Week 7 byes: Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills
Oronde Gadsden II, TE, Los Angeles Chargers (1.8%)
Another guy who stepped up for the Chargers in their matchup with the Dolphins was Gadsden, who had a solid game against the franchise his father caught passes for around the turn of the century. The fifth-round rookie from Syracuse had the most productive performance of his career so far, catching seven of eight targets for 68 yards in the 29-27 victory.
Charger tight ends hadn’t really made much of an impact in the passing game prior to Week 6 and Gadsden’s effort along with Tyler Higbee’s performance on Sunday could be a bellwether for things to come. If you need another TE option, then it could be a good idea to buy some Gadsden stock while it’s low.
Week 7 matchup: vs. Indianapolis Colts, 4:05 p.m. ET
AJ Barner, TE, Seattle Seahawks (20.2%)
Barner has worked his way into the top 10 of fantasy tight ends across all scoring formats and he once again made his mark in Seattle’s aforementioned win over Jacksonville on Sunday. He didn’t find the end zone like he had done in the prior two games, but he was still a big-play weapon for Sam Darnold with three receptions for 71 yards in the victory.
Despite his strong performances, he continues to just sit on the waiver wire in most leagues. That means you will continue to have opportunities to grab him.
Week 7 matchup: vs. Houston Texans, 10 p.m. ET (Monday night)
Harold Fannin Jr., TE, Cleveland Browns (34.6%)
The Browns’ offense was ineffective in their 23-9 loss to the Steelers on Sunday, but it didn’t stop Fannin from having a nice day at the offense. The rookie was Dillon Gabriel’s go-to option throughout the afternoon and he led the team in receiving with seven receptions for 81 yards on the day. He exits Week 6 as a top-10 tight end in both receptions and receiving yards and has managed to do so while having a target share of just 16.31%. Fannin should remain a reliable target for the new starter Gabriel moving forward.
Week 7 matchup: vs. Miami Dolphins, 1 p.m. ET
Michael Mayer, TE, Las Vegas Raiders (2.8%)
Brock Bowers missed his second straight game with a knee injury and Mayer stepped in to pick up the slack in the Raiders’ 20-10 victory over the Titans on Sunday. The third-year tight end finished as a top-five fantasy tight end for the week in all scoring formats, catching five of seven targets for 50 yards and his first touchdown since the 2023 campaign. Bowers has been dealing with this knee injury all season long, so there’s a chance that we could be seeing more of Mayer moving forward.
Week 7 matchup: @ Kansas City Chiefs, 1 p.m. ET
