We are in the middle of the best time of year.

Football games are happening all over the place. Major League Baseball is on the precipice of the World Series. The NBA returns to our lives next week. The NHL just did. Sports rock.

When it comes to rocking in the right way, game day food is a big part of the equation. HoneyBaked’s Take & Serve Sliders are just the thing for game day and Laura Rutledge knows all about them.

Laura spoke to SB Nation on Wednesday about the sliders, having accessible food with two young children, and football at large on Wednesday. You can watch our entire conversation with her here.

HoneyBaked’s Take & Serve Sliders feature the brand’s iconic sweet and savory flavors that fans know and love, with Honey Baked Ham® and Smoked Turkey Breast with Bacon and Cheddar Cheese, all piled high on soft, fluffy King’s Hawaiian® Rolls.

Now through the end of October, fans can score any two slider 12-packs for just $44.99 at participating locations. Each 12-pack comes with sides of mayonnaise and honey mustard so tailgate guests can customize to their taste preferences.

Among the specific things that Laura and I discussed were the Dallas Cowboys and how they always seem to find their way to the center of discussion within ESPN programming. People often believe that television networks lean into the Cowboys for ratings purposes, but as Rutledge described they always happen to be interesting enough to command attention regardless of their general notoriety.

Our thanks to Laura and to the fantastic sliders for the time!
