Week 7 of the 2025 NFL season is already upon us and the Sunday slate will wrap up with the Atlanta Falcons heading west to visit the San Francisco 49ers at 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC.
Mac Jones start or sit: Week 7 fantasy football advice
We break down the fantasy football outlook of Mac Jones ahead of the 49ers’ Week 7 matchup vs. the Falcons.

The 49ers suffered a 31-19 road loss to the Buccaneers last Sunday and suffered yet another devastating injury with All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner suffering a dislocated ankle. Meanwhile, quarterback Mac Jones had an up-and-down day under center and will be called into action once again with Brock Purdy already ruled out for this week’s matchup against Atlanta.
Below, we’ll go over Jones’ outlook in fantasy football for Week 7.
Fantasy Football analysis: 49ers QB Mac Jones
Jones went 27-39 for 347 yards with two interceptions last Sunday, generating just 13.2 fantasy points for the week. He was carving up an injured Bucs secondary for much of the game and actually had the most passing yards in Week 6, but six sacks proved to be the difference as the Tampa defense consistently applied pressure and put him on the ground throughout the afternoon.
The Niners QB will once again be without Ricky Pearsall in his arsenal for this primetime showdown, but he will be getting another major weapon back in the form of George Kittle. The All-Pro tight end has been sidelined since Week 1 with a hamstring injury, so we’ll see if this will be enough to get San Fran back into the win column.
Start or sit in Week 7?
Sit. Jones may be under duress again this week and have to make quick decisions against a Falcons defense that leads the NFL in blitz rate. I’d anticipate a lot of draws and quick dump-offs to Christian McCaffrey, which doesn’t exactly spell out a strong fantasy night for the QB. Look elsewhere and keep him on the bench.
