Welcome to the Week 8 waiver wire watch!
Best fantasy football QB waiver wire pickups for Week 8
Joe Flacco, Jaxson Dart highlight the top waiver wire quarterback targets entering Week 8.

Another weekend of NFL action is mostly in the books and we’re quickly approaching the midway point of the 2025 regular season. There were many great quarterback performances over the weekend with over 10 players generating at least 20 fantasy points. That included a few gunslingers flying under the radar and some of them are just waiting to be scooped up.
We’ll go over some Week 7 performers that you should consider scooping off the waiver wire ahead of Week 8 and as always, we’ll classify a waiver add as someone who is rostered in 60% of leagues at the max. Something to note is that six teams are on byes this week, so you’ll really have to be attentive to your roster situation.
Week 8 byes: Arizona Cardinals, Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks
Joe Flacco, QB, Cincinnati Bengals (10.2%)
Hey, would you look at that. The old man still has some gas left in the tank.
Flacco was slinging it in his second start with the Bengals on Thursday, throwing for 342 yards and three touchdowns in a 33-31 victory over the Steelers that might have saved their season. The “get the ball to Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins” strategy was a successful one for the Super Bowl 47 MVP as he connected with Cincy’s star wideouts 22 times throughout the night to great results.
Whether it was with the Browns or the Colts, the 40-year-old has shown over the past few years that he can inject some life into a struggling offense and he has the chance to get the Bengals right back into AFC playoff mix. He also has a chance to light up a dead-in-the-water Jets team next week and hey, if you need a QB streamer, he’ll be sitting right there.
Week 8 matchup: vs. New York Jets, 1 p.m. ET
Jaxson Dart, QB, New York Giants (46.6%)
The Giants’ fourth-quarter meltdown against the Broncos on Sunday was brutal, but they at least continue to get positive returns out of Dart as the starter. The first-round rookie from Ole Miss didn’t have the most accurate day through the air, but it was a productive one with 283 yards, three touchdowns, and one pick in the 33-32 loss. He also continues to show off his legs as his touchdown run in the final minute put the G-Men back on top and seemingly sealed the game.
Dart has given the Giants a shot in the arm since taking over about a month ago and he’s gaining confidence with each passing week. He’s also quickly becoming a hot commodity on the waiver wire and this week will probably be your last opportunity to grab him before it’s too late.
Week 8 matchup: @ Philadelphia Eagles, 1 p.m. ET
Aaron Rodgers, QB, Pittsburgh Steelers (31.9%)
Rodgers came out on the losing end of the “Unc Bowl” against Flacco last Thursday, but he still had a productive night with 249 yards, four touchdowns, and two interceptions for the game. The four-time MVP has managed to be effective at 41 by taking short, easy passes, explaining why he’s completing 68.6% of his passes but has the third-lowest ADOT among starting QB’s this season.
The veteran is averaging 17.6 fantasy points per game, which can be enough to get you by if you have a strong roster surrounding hi.
Week 8 matchup: vs. Green Bay Packers, 8:20 p.m. ET
Trevor Lawrence, QB, Jacksonville Jaguars (41.4%)
The Jags have come down to earth since their win over the Chiefs a few weeks back and got absolutely toasted by the Rams in a 35-7 loss in London. Lawrence wasn’t the most accurate in this game, but he still earned 17.6 fantasy points with 296 yards and a touchdown on the day.
That summarizes the season the former No. 1 overall pick is having as he exits Week 7 with the 11th most fantasy points among QB’s. The Jags are off this week, but he should be sitting on the waiver wire if you need a backup QB to stash.
Week 8 matchup: Bye week
