We break down the fantasy football outlook of Alvin Kamara ahead of the Saints’ Week 12 matchup vs. the Falcons.

Week 12 of the 2025 NFL season rolls on this afternoon with a bitter NFC South rivalry featuring the Atlanta Falcons visiting the New Orleans Saints at 4:25 p.m. ET on FOX.

The Saints are fresh off their bye week and the last time we saw them in action, they actually knocked off the upstart Panthers in a 17-7 victory two weeks ago. Running back Alvin Kamara was heavily involved in the victory in one of his most productive games of the entire season.

Below, we’ll go over Kamara’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 12.

Fantasy Football analysis: Saints RB Alvin Kamara

Kamara had a heavy workload against the Panthers two weeks ago, registering 22 carries for 83 rushing yards on the ground and three receptions foe 32 receiving yards through the air. It marked the second time this season where he recorded at least 25 touches in a single game and was also the first time he finished as a top-20 fantasy running back since their Week 6 loss to the Patriots.

The veteran All-Pro hasn’t been that much of a difference-maker for the Saints this season and he’s been a fringe Flex option for fantasy managers with seven weeks to go in the regular season. Among starting running backs, he ranks at the very bottom in categories like rushing EPA and success rate, averaging a career-low 3.6 yards per carry. He hasn’t even made a meaningful impact as a pass-catcher like he’s done in year’s past with under 200 receiving yards for the season.

However, opposing running backs have been able to average 21.1 fantasy points a game against a Falcons defense that carries the fifth-worst rushing EPA into Week 12. We’ll see if Kamara can take advantage of this in the Superdome this afternoon.

Start or sit in Week 12?

Start. Kamara has averaged 62.3 rushing yards and 35.6 receiving yards in 15 career games against the Falcons and I think he can put up similar numbers in the latest installment of this rivalry. Rookie quarterback Tyler Shough’s life was made easier by feeding Kamara two weeks ago and the Saints would be best served by sticking to this strategy for the rest of the season. Volume is a good thing for the veteran tailback and I’d be comfortable starting him this week.
