The AFC West leading Denver Broncos head to D.C. to take on the Washington Commanders as 5.5-point favorites Sunday night. The Commanders will get Terry McLaurin and Noah Brown back this week, but Jayden Daniels looks like he’ll need at least another week before he can go. That means we will see Marcus Mariota as the starter once again.

Below we will take a look at the best DFS plays for this Sunday night showdown.

Captain’s Picks

RJ Harvey, RB, Broncos (FLEX $11,400, CPT $17,100)

With JK Dobbins out in Week 11, Harvey didn’t see a huge workload, but he was the clear lead back in a tough matchup with the Chiefs. Following their bye, I expect Harvey to be featured more and this week he gets a much easier matchup with the Commanders, as Washington has allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to running backs this season.

Deebo Samuel, WR, Commanders (FLEX $12,400, CPT $18,600)

I could see playing Terry McLaurin this week as he returns from his quad injury, but he’s a bit too expensive with Pat Surtain returning also and the Broncos defense more giving to the WR2 position than WR1. That leads me to lean toward Deebo this week for some possible upside out of the Commanders’ offense.

Troy Franklin, WR, Broncos (FLEX $8,800, CPT $13,200)

Franklin has hit eight or more targets in five straight games and has taken over the WR1 job from Courtland Sutton. Bo Nix has had trouble hitting Franklin deep, but they keep trying and they could have better luck against the Commanders, who give up the fifth-most fantasy points and touchdowns to enemy wide receivers.

Value flex plays

Pat Bryant, WR, Broncos (FLEX $5,000, CPT $7,500)

Bryant had his best game of the season in Week 11 when he caught 5-of-6 passes for 82 yards against the Chiefs. This week the receivers get a much better matchup against the Commanders weak pass defense as well.

Zach Ertz, TE, Commanders (FLEX $6,600, CPT $9,900)

Ertz has caught four passes in four straight games. He’s not a high upside play, but his consistency gives him a good floor and if he can score, he’s likely hitting his upside.

Noah Brown, WR, Commanders (FLEX $4,600, CPT $6,900)

Brown returns this week from I.R. and when healthy has been an integral part of the Commanders offense. He’s not a strong fantasy start usually, but he’s a go-to guy when in trouble and I expect Marcus Mariota to get in plenty of trouble this week.
