Week 14 of the 2025 NFL season rolls on with a battle for first place in the AFC North as the Pittsburgh Steelers visit the Baltimore Ravens at 1 p.m. ET on CBS.

The Steelers’ 26-7 loss to the Bills last Sunday marked the third setback in their last four outings and their once comfortable lead atop the division has evaporated. Running back Kenneth Gainwell got plenty of work in the loss and we’ll see if he can be a valuable hand in this critical late-season showdown.

Below, we’ll go over Gainwell’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 14.

Fantasy Football analysis: Steelers RB Kenneth Gainwell

Gainwell had a decent individual outing for the Steelers in their loss last Sunday, taking five carries for 20 rushing yards on the ground and catching two targets for 25 receiving yards through the air. It was nowhere near the 122 yards from scrimmage he had against the Bears the week prior and he registered his lowest snap total since Week 3 with 18.

Gainwell has still been a valuable handcuff to starter Jaylen Warren this season and his involvement in the passing game currently has him as a top-25 fantasy RB in PPR leagues. His 44 receptions this season ranks sixth among his position and that versatility has made him an extremely effective chain-mover as his 60.5% first-down rate is tops among RB’s.

Start or sit in Week 14?

Start. As just mentioned, Gainwell’s fantasy value is tied to his ability to catch swing passes out of the backfield and he’s going up against a Baltimore defense that has been vulnerable in that avenue this season. The Ravens have yielded 58 receptions for 469 yards to opposing RB’s, which ranks among the 10 highest totals in the league. Don’t be surprised if the Steelers try to get the ball into his hands early and often and I think that’s worthy of a Flex start.
