Game status: The Texans announced that Woody Marks is INACTIVE for Week 16. Nick Chubb is active and will split time with Jawhar Jordan.

Game day update: Adam Schefter is reporting that Woody Marks is NOT expected to play in Week 16 vs. the Raiders due to his ankle injury. The Texans don’t play until 4:25 p.m. ET, which means we will not get the official inactive word until 2:55 p.m. However, with decisions to make for the 1 p.m. kickoffs, it seems safe to bench Marks.

Week 16 of the 2025 NFL season continues on this afternoon with an AFC battle featuring the Las Vegas Raiders visiting the Houston Texans at 4:25 p.m. ET on CBS.

The Texans picked up their sixth straight win in a 40-20 drubbing of the Cardinals last Sunday and stayed within a game of the also surging Jaguars for first place in the AFC South. Running back Woody Marks is a little bit banged up heading into this showdown and we’ll see what kind of impact he can make.

Below, we’ll go over Marks’ outlook in fantasy football for Week 16.

Fantasy Football analysis: Texans RB Woody Marks

Marks exited the first half of last week’s win over the Cardinals with an ankle injury and never returned, tallying just seven carries for 30 rushing yards for the day. Head coach DeMeco Ryans confirmed after the ballgame that the rookie back could’ve returned but was kept out as a precaution, opening the door for practice squader Jawhar Jordan to step up with a 101-yard performance of his own.

Marks has been dealing with foot and ankle injuries over the past few weeks and even though he missed a few practices this week, he should be good to go for today’s matchup. He’s been fed plenty of carries as Houston’s starting tailback this season and enters Week 16 as a top-30 fantasy back in all scoring formats. We’ll find out how much his workload will be for today.

Start or sit in Week 16?

Start. Even if the Texans manage his snap count due to the ankle injury, he still should make an impact this afternoon. The Raiders have allowed opposing running backs to punch in 15 rushing touchdowns on them this season, tied for the second-highest total in the league. It would not be a shock to see Marks score early here, so the green light is on for him as a starter today.
