3rd quarter update, 9:30 remaining: The 49ers announced that McCaffrey is questionable to return to the Divisional Round matchup with a stinger.

The San Francisco 49ers headed into the third quarter trailing 24-6, and any comeback might have to happen without running back Christian McCaffrey. The team’s key offensive performer was spotted getting his neck or shoulder worked on by trainers on the sideline at the end of the second quarter. In the third quarter, the 49ers received the opening kickoff and Brian Robinson took the first carry. Jordan James also got a carry on the opening drive while McCaffrey remained on the sideline.

The team has not made an official announcement as of this article publishing, but FOX Sports’ Tom Rinaldi noted where he appears to have hurt his shoulder.

McCaffrey had nine carries for 29 yards and five receptions for 39 yards before appearing to injure his shoulder on that chip.
