Two former members of the New York Giants have made decisions about their 2026 plans this Monday.

Former wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is returning to the Giants years after he was drafted by the franchise with the 12th-overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. Beckham recently worked out for the team, and is returning to the NFL after last playing in the league in 2024.

Beckham caught 390 passes for 5,476 yards and 44 touchdown during his time in New York with the Giants. He spent five full seasons with the team, before he was traded to the Cleveland Browns in a multi-player deal ahead of the 2019 season. Beckham played two full seasons for the Browns, but was released by the organization during the 2021 campaign. He signed with the Los Angeles Rams, and he was part of the Rams team that won Super Bowl LVI.

Beckham last played in the NFL in 2025 with the Miami Dolphins. He was handed a six-game suspension for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drugs policy, and accepted that suspension last October.

Then there is Russell Wilson. The veteran quarterback signed a one-year deal with the Giants ahead of the 2025 season, and started the first three games for New York before giving way to rookie Jaxson Dart.

According to reports, Wilson had an offer to spend this season as a backup quarterback with the New York Jets, but has opted to move to television. He will replace Matt Ryan on the CBS Sports pregame show:

Ryan has taken a front office role with the Atlanta Falcons, his former team.
