Vikings Vs. Jets: Brett Favre Fumbles Twice To Become All-Time Fumble King

It remains to be seen whether Brett Favre will get his stuff together and throw his 500th career touchdown pass in this game, but Favre has reached another important milestone: by registering his 161st and 162nd career fumble Monday night, Favre has passed Warren Moon for first place on the all-time career fumble list.

Favre has fumbled two snaps, each having been recovered by the Jets. The second came on the Vikings’ first possession of the second half, with Minnesota having the ball just inside Jets territory. Favre mishandled the snap from Ryan Cook, making his first start at center in relief of John Sullivan.

The Jets got another field goal out of the mistake, but the Vikings defense, playing exemplary all night, has kept New York out of the end zone and thus giving the Vikings a glimmer of hope that if only their offense can get anything going, they might still win.

Later, on the subsequent drive, Farve passed 70,000 career passing yards on a completion to Percy Harvin. He is the only player in NFL history to reach this mark.
