NFL Trade Rumors: Albert Haynesworth Can Reportedly Be Had For A 2nd Round Pick

The NFL trade deadline is approaching which means the trade rumors are starting to increase.

The latest surrounds Redskins' Albert Haynesworth. Head coach Mike Shanahan told reporters on Monday that Haynesworth likely wouldn't be traded.

NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora says that doesn’t mean the Redskins aren’t trying to trade him.

The Redskins have been holding out for a second-round pick, according to sources, but the price could be dropping, sources say, with the deadline now just hours away.

SB Nation DC fills us in on a little bit of context with Haynesworth and what’s been going on in Washington lately.

Haynesworth was clearly upset about being inactive for last Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts, and said he wouldn't be surprised if he was traded. The Tennessee Titans, Haynesworth's former club, remain the team most interested in Haynesworth, and according to La Canfora, they have had the "most consistent contact" with the Redskins about Haynesworth.

The Titans make sense as a trade partner. They’re 4-2 and tied for first place in their division. They could use some deadline help to put them over the hump.
