With the league launching NFLLabor.com in the last year to push their message in the upcoming labor battle, the union has launched NFLLockout.com. The website is the NFLPA’s one-stop shop telling you their side of the current mess that is NFL labor.
NFLPA Creates Lockout Website
The union has made sure in recent months to let fans know that this will be a lockout and not a work stoppage. One section tells readers that the lockout is not about the players wanting more.
The players have stated many times they’re content with the current system and revenue split… NFL owners and players each split roughly 50 percent of the revenue pie.
Right off the bat that’s an interesting comment because I think the average NFL fan -- at least the fan that’s somewhat knowledgeable of the labor issues -- would ask, ‘I thought the players got 60 percent of the revenue split?’ NFLLockout.com tells you why that is not the case.
The website addresses a wide array of topics and attempts to point out the damage that would be done if the league did lockout the players.
Taking away football is not only devastating to the loyal and supportive fans of the NFL; it’s also devastating to their local economies.
The main focus of the site though is a petition asking fans to help “block” the lockout. They’re looking for one million signatures playing up to the idea that the players don’t want anything to change (an idea that’s explained nicely on the website).
