A recurring theme in today's Bears Vs. Redskins game -- QB Jay Cutler turning the football over.
Week 7 NFL Scores And Results: Bears Beat Themselves, Hand Redskins 17-14 Victory
Today, Cutler threw four interceptions in the Bears’ loss, and also fumbled once as well. His numbers were less than mediocre, as he completed 26 of 40 passes for 281 yards and only one touchdown.
Bears had 14 passing first downs, yet they scored only 14 points, seven of which were via an interception return.
In their victory, Redskins QB Donovan McNabb completed 17 of 32 passes for 200 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. He was mediocre at best, but managed the game better than Cutler. RB Ryan Torain had a big day, rushing 21 times for 125 yards with an average of 6.0 ypc.
Cutler made some errant passes today, often throwing at receivers’ feet or behind them also. It does not help that Bears field one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL, and he was facing a lot of pressure all day.
Five turnovers and one offensive touchdown doesn’t cut it. Teams simply don’t win games that way. Bears have not been able to put together solid, ball-control oriented drives, and that his been the death of them this season.
