The Patriots scored on a grueling, 17-play, 76-yard drive that was both their longest of the season and the longest allowed by the Chargers this year. BenJarvus Green-Ellis, “The Law Firm” to his teammates, punched in the final score on what felt like New England’s ninth play from inside San Diego’s ten-yard line.
New England Patriots Vs. San Diego Chargers: BenJarvus Green-Ellis Gives Pats 17-Point Edge
New England’s halftime adjustments have brought their offense neck-and-neck with the Chargers’, as far as total yards go, at least. As far as points go, they have way more.
RB Danny Woodhead leads the Pats’ offense with 49 total yards, while TE Aaron Hernandez and Green-Ellis have each contributed 25 yards.
If New England’s offense had ground out yardage like this in the first half, this game would be long over by now. But even though the Chargers gave up a scoring drive, their pass rush was still all over Brady. DT Antonio Garay earned San Diego’s fourth sack.
Chargers TE Antonio Gates still has no catches. Philip Rivers fumbled the ball yet again, but fell on it. I’m just going to post this before he fumbles again.
