All of a sudden, the Oakland Raiders are a team to be reckoned with in the NFL. In back-to-back wins, the Raiders have outscored their opponents by a score of 92-17. Seriously. That is not a typo.
NFL Week 8 Scores And Results: Raiders Blow Out Seahawks 33-3 To Reach .500
Their latest crushing victory came at the expense of the Seattle Seahawks, who weren’t competitive in any way in falling 33-3 to the surging Raiders. Marshawn Lynch and Seattle’s rushing attack were completely dominated by an underrated Raiders defense, and Matt Hasselbeck was highly ineffective before leaving due to injury late in the game.
Jason Campbell was again efficient in victory, completing 15 of 27 passes for 310 yards, with two scores - a 30-yarder to Marcel Reece, and a 69-yarder to Darrius Heyward-Bey. Four Sebastian Janikowski field goals and a four-yard touchdown plunge from Michael Bush late in the fourth quarter rounded out the scoring for Oakland.
The Raiders won this game on the ground once again. A week after rushing for 328 yards in a win over Denver, Darren McFadden, Bush and the Raiders churned out another 239 yards in this victory. McFadden carried 21 times for 111 yards, and added 24 receiving yards to boot.
Oakland is now 4-4 on the season, and will be playing a huge divisional contest in Week 9 against 5-2 Kansas City. Seattle, meanwhile, falls to 4-3 and have just a half-game lead in the mediocre, wide-open NFC West.
