The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were too much for the Carolina Panthers in a critical NFC South rivalry game. The Cats were only down by five with ten minutes left and by a single score with three to go, but a 45-yard scoring run by Bucs RB Cadillac Williams slammed the door on Carolina’s hopes of getting their second win.
NFL Week 10 Scores And Results: Buccaneers Put Away Panthers, 31-16
Panthers RB Mike Goodson, in his first major NFL duty, put together a 100-yard day on 23 carries and QB Jimmy Clausen may have had his best game as a pro yet, but going 6-of-15 on third downs with no big plays to speak of put too much pressure on Carolina’s defense.
Bucs QB Josh Freeman took advantage by completing 75 percent of his passes for 241 yards and two touchdowns, with three receivers going over 50 yards and two rushers gaining 60 or more.
Next, the 1-8 Panthers get the Baltimore Ravens at home, and the 6-3 Bucs are off to see the San Francisco 49ers.
