We've been saying the key to this Thursday Night Football game will be Tyler Thigpen because the Chicago Bears will likely do all they can to shut down the Miami Dolphins run game. Thigpen is the third string QB so it's reasonable to assume the Dolphins will try to rely on their run game. The only problem is that the Bears are one of the better teams in the league at stopping the run.
Thursday Night Football, Bears Vs. Dolphins: Ricky Williams, Ronnie Brown Are Key
Accurscore does 10,000 computer simulations of the game and they're predicting the key to the game comes down to the Dolphins running backs, Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown.
If the Bears can hold Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown to under 100 yards combined, then their chances to win climb to 66 percent. If Williams and Brown top that mark, then the Dolphins’ chances soar to 82 percent.
So that’s what this comes down. If the Dolphins can run it effectively, then that takes some pressure off of Thigpen. If they can’t, then that puts the pressure back on Thigpen and, with one win in 11 career starts, you can’t expect him to put the team on his shoulders.
