Thursday Night Football: Chicago Bears Dominate Miami Dolphins, 16-0

With a desperate quarterback situation and a key injury to Brandon Marshall, the Dolphins were an easy target for the Chicago Bears tonight. In a painful Thursday Night Football match-up, the Bears completely shut down Miami, rolling to a 16-0 win. Three Robbie Gould field goals and a Matt Forte touchdown plunge were all it took for Chicago to easily out-muscle the Dolphins.

Jay Cutler’s game was far from impressive, but the Bears’ quarterback did enough to bring home the win. On the day, Cutler was 16-25 for 156 yards and one interception. Forte added a game-high 97 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Johnny Knox caught five passes for 55 yards to lead the Bears.

Tyler Thigpen, who just one week ago was third on the depth chart, completed 17 passes for 187 yards and an interception. Thigpen also led the Dolphins on the ground with 27 yards. Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams combined for just 11 yards on nine carries in the loss. Brian Hartline led the Miami receivers with 70 yards and Marshall caught three passes for 41 yards before leaving with an apparent hamstring injury.

The Bears improve to 7-3 on the season while the Dolphins fell to 5-5. Chicago hosts Michael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles next Sunday while Miami travels to Oakland to face the Raiders.
