A Brett Favre interception with just over a minute remaining in the first half negated a scoring opportunity for the Minnesota Vikings. Instead, Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers got that scoring opportunity, and took advantage of it, extending their lead to 17-3 over the host Vikings.
Week 11 NFL, Packers Vs. Vikings: Aaron Rodgers Strikes Again
Rodgers hit James Jones for a three-yard touchdown pass with nine seconds remaining in the first half. It was Rodgers’ second touchdown pass of the half. On the day, Rodgers has completed 64 percent of his throws for 188 yards and the two scores, with the other touchdown strike going to Greg Jennings.
The Packers are spreading the ball around very well, with Rodgers hitting seven different receivers in the first half. That’s helped them overcome a sluggish start, particularly by the running game, to take a commanding lead on the road.
Favre, meanwhile, struggled in the first half, completing just 8 of 17 passes for 96 yards and the aforementioned interception in the first half. Adrian Peterson has 51 rushing yards on 11 carries, and Sidney Rice recorded his first reception of the season (17 yards) in his first appearance of the season.
