How do you know you’re watching the NFL? The one game that looked like a good one on paper was awful, and the awful ones on paper made up for it on the field.
Early Games End With Flurry Of Dramatic Comebacks: Jets, Bills, Jaguars All Storm Back
After the Packers dispatched the Vikings easily, all hell broke loose in three of today's less-anticipated early games, and not just because of the streaker at New Meadowlands Stadium. A recap is in order.
- The Bills came back from a 28-7 deficit against the Bengals with a 35-0 second half, and turned an impossible situation into a 49-31 romp. Steve Johnson had more yards and touchdowns than Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco combined in the victory.
- The Jaguars, who committed six turnovers, got a 75-yard screen pass catch-and-run from Maurice Jones-Drew to set up a go-ahead touchdown with less than a minute left to beat the Browns 24-20. The Jaguars defense played well, but forced just one turnover, an interception on the game's final play.
- The Jets coughed up a 23-7 fourth quarter lead, then rallied with less than a minute left by aerating Houston's rancid secondary. Mark Sanchez connected with Santonio Holmes with just 10 seconds left for the game-winning touchdown, and the Jets came back to break the Texans' heart, 30-27.
