After falling in a 14-0 hole early in the second quarter, Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts responded as you’d expect Peyton Manning to, cutting the lead in half when Manning found Gijon Robinson on an easy one-yard score.
Week 11 NFL, Patriots Vs. Colts: Teams Swap Scores, Pats Lead 21-7
Alas, if only Indianapolis could play defense today.
On the ensuing possession, Tom Brady and the Patriots quickly marched 65 yards in eight plays, and running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis capped off the Patriots’ third consecutive scoring drive with a five-yard touchdown run, giving the Patriots a 21-7 lead late in the first half.
Green-Ellis has 42 rushing yards and the touchdown on 10 carries thus far. Brady has completed 12 of 14 passes for 131 yards and two more scores. If the Colts are going to get back into this game in the second half, they’ll need more than just better play from Manning (160 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT); they’ll need to man up and play a little defense, as well.
