So much for the Indianapolis Colts getting back into the game after halftime; they didn’t even need to wait that long. Peyton Manning connected with Reggie Wayne (finally!) on an 11-yard touchdown pass with just nine seconds remaining before the break, cutting the New England Patriots’ halftime lead to 21-14.
Week 11 NFL, Patriots Vs. Colts: Peyton Manning, Reggie Wayne Give Colts Halftime Momentum
Indy’s defense has not yet shown up to play, but Manning and the offense are, as usual, keeping them alive. Manning threw two touchdown passes in the second quarter, off-setting the two that Tom Brady had picked up just three minutes into the second quarter. Manning did throw one interception early in the game, setting up New England’s first touchdown, and a BenJarvus Green-Ellis score is the difference in the game at the moment.
The Colts have gained 218 total yards thus far, while the Patriots have 177 themselves. Take a deep breath during this halftime break, folks; Brady-Manning looks like it’s going to go right down to the wire once again. Brady and the Patriots will get the first opportunity at drawing fresh blood in the second half, as they receive the opening kickoff.
