At one point in the past, Terrell Owens venting about his team's incompetence would have been worth a live ESPN break-in, 72-point font, and a week of overheated sports radio discussion. Now, with Owens in the twilight of his career and his team, the Bengals, becoming the first NFL team to give up a 17 point halftime lead and lose by 18, Owens speaking his mind isn't a big deal: it's just sort of sad and true.
Terrell Owens On Woeful Bengals: ‘We Are Terrible’
↵
↵Owens: “Let me look you in the eyes and emphasize -- we are terrible.” #bengals↵That’s an observation, not an indictment, and it’s inarguable: the Bengals are 2-8, have lost seven straight games, and have managed to lose after both holding a 17-point halftime deficit and and taking the lead after facing a 21-point halftime deficit this season. There are few better words for the Bengals’ plight than terrible.
↵And if Owens is this good at diagnosing football teams, shouldn’t he consider seriously pursuing a broadcasting career after football?
