The Philadelphia Eagles could not figure out how to dent the Chicago Bears defense at all during the third quarter. Losing momentum in the second quarter after a Michael Vick interception in the Bears red zone, the Eagles have fallen behind by 18 points.
Third Quarter Much Of The Same For Bears, Eagles 31-13
The quarter began with the Bears ahead by a single point, leading 14-13. That would be short lived. Only 1 minute and 31 seconds into the third quarter Jay Cutler found Greg Olsen for a 9 yard touchdown pass, making the score 21-13. The Bears would make great use of possession for the remainder of the third quarter, dominating it to the point where the Eagles held the ball for well less than 50 percent of the quarter. This possession would benefit the Bears with a field goal, putting the Bears in front 31-13.
The quarter backs in the game seem to have switched bodies as Cutler finished the third with four touchdowns and no interceptions, while Vick only had one touchdown and an interception.
