Randy Moss Willing To Sit Out 2010 Season, According To Report

Who will be Randy Moss's team may not be as important of a question as who will Randy Moss allow to be his next team. While Moss sits on the waiver wire, there are 31 other NFL teams that could claim him and he would contractually obligated to play for that team.

But what if he doesn’t want to play? The Boston Herald reports:

If Moss is not happy with the team that claims him, he’s "willing to sit out the season," a source close to Moss told The Herald. That could lead to a difficult situation for any team that claims Moss. So what does he want? "He wants a ring," the source said.

Moss seems to be warning some of non-Super Bowl contenders that he wants to play for a winner. And if you're not a winner -- in Moss's eyes at least -- then he simply won't come play. And isn't it interesting that this report comes from a reporter on the Patriots beat. After Moss's strange but glowing comments about the Patriots last Sunday you have to think he's interested in returning to New England.

There are already some teams that have said they won’t be submitting a claim for Moss. This latest report would suggest that, if you’re not on the path for a playoff run, then don’t bother claiming him.

We’ll find out at the 4:00 p.m. waiver wire deadline whether that’s the case.
