Redskins’ ‘Swinging Gate’ Play Immortalized On Canvas

Last season, the Redskins were down 24-0 at the half to the Giants, and a second-half comeback would have been completely unprecedented. Then-coach Jim Zorn's response was to call a "swinging gate" play that failed miserably.

↵Well, Mr. Irrelevant was contacted by a gentleman who took the liberty of capturing the moment on canvas. There’s something about seeing this painting, with most of the team lined up near the sideline, that reminds me of how iconic the moment was. Anyone who followed the Redskins in 2009 will instantly recognize it. I love this, because we need more sports-related things to hang on our wall that aren’t Starline posters of Shawn Kemp dunking in a thunderstorm.
