Late in the Raiders-Chiefs thriller today, Oakland needed a miracle. Jacoby Ford delivered two.
VIDEO: Jacoby Ford Makes Spectacular Interception-Thwarting Catch To Help Raiders Top Chiefs
First, Ford made this incredible catch, going airborne and ripping away a game-sealing interception from Chiefs cornerback Brandon Flowers, which set up a game-tying field goal by Sebastian Janikowski.
Then, in overtime, Ford made another great catch, setting up the eventual Janikowski game-winner. On the day. the speedy rookie from Clemson had six catches for 148 yards, and racked up another 158 yards on kick returns, including a 94-yard touchdown. He puts his blazing speed to good use, clearly.
For years, the Raiders have been one of the NFL's more downtrodden teams, and they've lacked a big-play receiver since Tim Brown's retirement despite a laundry list of gaudy acquisitions. (Randy Moss, Jerry Porter, Jerry Rice, and Darrius Heyward-Bey come to mind.) In one afternoon, Jacoby Ford may have helped Oakland turn the corner on both accounts.
