Earlier on Sunday, the Minnesota Vikings confirmed to the world that they were not about to pack it in this season. Later on, the Dallas Cowboys confirmed to the world they were most certainly going to pack it in this season. They did so, conveniently, against the Packers, who trounced them 45-7.
Cowboys Vs. Packers: Cowboys Officially Left For Dead After 45-7 Shellacking By Packers
The Dallas Cowboys train wreck of a season made a stop in Green Bay tonight, where everything was right on par with the rest of the 2010 season for Dallas as they lost 45-7.
The first quarter remained scoreless for both teams, something that might be a feat for the Cowboys defense. Green Bay began the rout in the second quarter, scoring 28 points. Aaron Rodgers threw two touchdowns while Brandon Jackson ran for one. Nick Collins returned a Bryan McCann fumble on a kickoff for a touchdown, giving Green Bay a 28-0 lead.
Dez Bryant brought the Cowboys a bit closer before the half closed, catching a touchdown pass from Jon Kitna to bring the game to 28-7 at half.
Dallas wouldn’t score again for the rest of the night. All told, the Cowboys committed four turnovers, including a fourth quarter pick-six by Kitna that capped the Green Bay scoring. The Cowboys ran 14 times for 39 yards in the losing effort.
