After Dallas’ 45-7 loss to Green Bay on Sunday night, we’re past the point of hyperbole for Cowboy fans. They’re far too proud a fanbase to sit back and let this continue without consequences. Cowboy blog Blogging The Boys is asking Cowboys owner Jerry Jones to do, well, anything at this point.
Blogging The Boys: ‘Please Jerry Jones, Do Something’
They’re fundamentally broken. The Dallas Cowboys of 2010 have plunged to the depths of the NFL; the absolute beatdown they took from the Green Bay Packers to the tune of 45-7 should be enough to wake up Jerry Jones. Something has to be done. If the most die-hard of Cowboys fans, and I count myself as one, no longer want to watch the games, then you have a serious problem. I don’t even care who you replace Wade Phillips with, you could name Dave Campo coach on Monday morning and I’d be okay with it. Seriously.
The New York Giants game was the game that officially killed us, now we’re just watching a decaying corpse. It’s an old cliché; you can’t fire the whole team so you fire the coach. Well, there is truth in that statement. The blame can be spread far and wide for this performance, but Jerry Jones isn’t firing himself, so Wade is the guy who has to go. The point is, whatever you choose to do if you fire Wade, whoever you put in charge, it just doesn’t matter. This team is disintegrating; just give us a reason to watch them again. You can’t keep foisting back-to-back blowouts on us where the Dallas Cowboys look like a jayvee team masquerading as NFL players.
