A sloppy first half in Michigan between the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions has been highlighted by an apparent concussion to Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
NFL Week 14, Packers Vs. Lions: Aaron Rodgers Hurt; Game Scoreless At Halftime
Rodgers was injured on an 18-yard scramble late in the second quarter when, as he was going to the Ford Field turf, he was hit by a Lions linebacker, causing his head to impact the turf. Rodgers struggled to get up, but finished the drive, playing a further three plays before Green Bay punted. Matt Flynn was in the lineup to close out the half, however, and it appears that he’ll finish the game for the 8-4 Packers.
The injury highlights an ugly first half highlighted by a combined four turnovers, 12 punts and five quarterback sacks between these two teams. Neither team has done much in the way of capturing offensive momentum, and both teams have failed rather spectacularly in attempting to capitalize on mistakes by its opponent. Flynn and Drew Stanton will take the reigns for their respective teams in the second half.
