The Green Bay Packers, led by backup quarterback Matt Flynn (playing for the concussed Aaron Rodgers), hold a 3-0 lead over the host Detroit Lions as the fourth quarter begins.
NFL Week 14, Packers Vs. Lions: Pack Lead 3-0 As Teams Squander Scoring Opportunities
Both teams could have had more points on the board, but squandered scoring opportunities.
After taking a 3-0 lead early in the third quarter on a 42-yard field goal from Mason Crosby - Greg Jennings couldn’t bring in a poor Flynn throw for a TD on that drive - Flynn again drove the Pack deep into Lions territory. He promptly ended the drive by throwing a brutal interception in the end zone directly into the hands of Lions linebacker DeAndre Levy.
Detroit then managed to drive into scoring position, thanks largely to a 44-yard reception by Calvin Johnson from Drew Stanton, but Dave Rayner missed a field goal, leaving the score at 3-0 heading into the fourth quarter.
The two teams have combined for five turnovers and 14 punts on the day.
