Santonio Holmes' wide open drop of a floated touchdown pass from quarterback Mark Sanchez epitomizes the Jets first half.
NFL Week 14, Jets Vs. Dolphins: Jets Make Many Mistakes, Dolphins Leading 10-3
The New York Jets have managed to not only botch an easy pitch-and-catch touchdown but have also turned the ball over twice. Sanchez threw an interception to Miami Dolphins rookie cornerback Nolan Carroll, which led to a 47-yard field goal by Dolphins kicker Dan Carpenter.
The Dolphins defense followed up their interception with a sack and forced fumble of Sanchez, which was recovered by linebacker Quentin Moses. All 10 of the Dolphins points scored so far have come off of Jets turnovers.
Brandon Marshall caught his second touchdown of the season on a 6 yard touchdown pass from Dolphins quarterback Chad Henne, after the fumble recovery. Both of Marshall's touchdowns have come against the Jets.
The Jets had a chance to bring the game to 10-7 but Holmes took his eyes off of a pass from Sanchez and the pass appeared to hit him in the shoulder as he ran free of the Miami defense in the upper left corner of the endzone. The Jets then settled for a 35-yard field goal by nicker Nick Folk.
