Eagles Vs. Cowboys: Desean Jackson Hauls In 91-Yard Touchdown Pass On A Bad Ankle

Desean Jackson showed off his speed, elusiveness and a hilarious celebration while giving the Eagles the lead over the Dallas Cowboys, 27-20. Jackson caught a quick out, turned, made a defender miss and used his speed to turn a 10-yard catch into a 91-yard touchdown early in the fourth quarter. Just minutes before, Jackson rolled his ankle returning a punt, but still had enough in the tank to outrun the Dallas’ defense for the longest play from scrimmage this year.

Jackson, who has a knack for celebrations, broke one final tackle at the five, stopped at the goal-line, turned around to face the trailing Cowboys’ defenders and slowly fell over backwards into the end zone. He was, of course, flagged for excessive celebration. The celebration, likely to be debated by the talking heads on Monday, seemed to be all in good fun. Besides, he just raced 91-yards for the score, making the Cowboys’ defense look foolish along the way.

The Philadelphia Eagles slowly clawed back into the game before Jackson’s heroics, using two field goals to tie the score at 20. LeSean McCoy scampered for a 56-yard run to open the first scoring drive, but the Eagles failed to find the end zone, settling for a 39-yard David Akers field goal to pull within three. Akers added another field goal after the Eagles stalled again in Dallas territory.

With nine minutes to go in the fourth quarter, the Eagles lead the Cowboys, 27-20.
