The Philadelphia Eagles love the big play and they got plenty of them from QB Michael Vick, WR DeSean Jackson and RB LeSean McCoy in a 30-27 victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football. From Jackson's 91-yard touchdown reception to McCoy's 56-yard scamper, we saw big plays left and right in Dallas on Sunday night.
Eagles Vs. Cowboys: Michael Vick, DeSean Jackson, LeSean McCoy And Big Plays Propel Philly
Jackson’s the star of the show as he ended the night with just four receptions but a whopping 210 yards receiving including a touchdown. Jason of Bleeding Green Nation was impressed to say the least.
He struck early with a big 60+ yard catch on the first play of the game and then all but broke Dallas with an amazing 91 yard TD in the fourth quarter. It was a simple out pattern that the CB Mike Jenkins tried to jump but missed. Jackson made the catch, turned up the field and was gone. It was the longest play from scrimmage in the NFL this season
McCoy also put up 149 yards rushing on just 16 carries. As BGN points out, most of it came in the second half.
The big thing is that he was 10-for-135 in the second half. His big highlight was a 56 yard run, but the way he just sliced through the Dallas defense on the final drive was a thing of beauty.
And then there’s Michael Vick. He added two touchdowns passing and a rushing touchdown. He had a couple of mistakes -- one interception wasn’t his fault -- but he showed this team is going to be dangerous moving forward.
