The New Orleans Saints got an incredible touchdown catch from Lance Moore to tie the Baltimore Ravens at 24 in the fourth quarter. This happened after the Saints squandered an early 7-0 lead and fell behind 21-7 in the second quarter. The Ravens, however, got two late field goals from Billy Cundiff and put their 30-24 victory over the defending champions on ice.
NFL Week 15, Ravens Vs. Saints: Ravens Overcome Saints Rally, Win 30-24
Ray Rice was dominant in Baltimore’s victorious performance, gaining an incredible 233 total yards on 36 total offensive touches (31 runs, five receptions). He also scored two touchdowns, both in the second quarter, and was the biggest reason that the Ravens were able to withstand New Orleans’ comeback bid and secure a big home win.
Drew Brees did all he could to keep the Saints alive in this one, throwing for 267 yards and three touchdowns (with one interception). Along with Moore’s game-tying touchdown in the fourth quarter, Brees also connected with rookie tight end Jimmy Graham for two scores, both in the first half.
In the end, however, the Saints just didn’t have a defensive answer to Ray Rice, and it cost them a road win. Both teams are now 10-4 on the season, and in need of help from division rivals (Atlanta and Pittsburgh, to be precise) to make a move in the standings.
