Adrian Peterson Inactive Due To Thigh Injury Vs. Chicago Bears

Not sure which is the biggest surprise of the night: Minnesota Vikings QB Brett Favre is playing, or RB Adrian Peterson is not. Just two hours ago, Peterson looked like the obvious focal point of the Minnesota offense with Favre out.

Details of Peterson’s injury remain something of a mystery, but it’s officially listed as a thigh injury. It initially appeared as if it could be related to the ankle injury he suffered a few weeks ago against the Washington Redskins. But he’s played since then, and even returned to the field following that injury. And it’s listed as a thigh anyway.

Rookie RB Toby Gerhart will likely get the bulk of Minnesota’s carries with Peterson out.

Could Favre and Peterson be the same person? Come to think of it, have you ever seen them in the same place? You’ve never seen them in the same place at TCF Bank Stadium. Think about that.
