Eli Manning Press Conference Has Empty Feeling

Eli Manning had to know it would be a brutal press conference. He's the franchise quarterback of an NFL team in the toughest media market in America, and his team had just delivered one of the worst collapses in the history of the NFL. But even Eli probably didn't expect this.

Yes, the New York media was apparently so put out by the Giants' failure to show up for the fourth quarter that they decided to follow suit during Eli Manning's press conference -- their famous attack mentality perhaps dulled by the spectacle they had just watched. Or maybe they just figured that Manning, who threw for 289 yards and four touchdowns in the game, shouldn't really be expected to answer for the team's defensive issues.
