Once Tony Romo was injured on Oct. 24 there was a thought that he would be able to return later in the year. Owner Jerry Jones said its important that Romo returns so that they can string together some momentum as they try to forget 2010 and look to 2011.
Tony Romo Injury Lands Him On Injured Reserve; Season Is Over For Cowboys QB
That won't be happening. Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas reports the Cowboys will place Romo on injured reserve ending his season.
There was a thought that the injury would cost him as few as six games and as many as 10 potentially opening the door for his return this year. In the end, the Cowboys figured it was best to save him for next year and avoid suffering another injury in two meaningless games.
Jones said in mid-November that Romo could be returning this year and said it's more about getting Romo some reps than it is how well (or bad) Jon Kitna has played.
The Cowboys have more talent than a 5-9 team so I imagine despite this year they’ll again be picked to go to the playoffs with a healthy Romo.
