Ryan Leaf has seen it all, and done it all, in his lifetime. So it’s only natural Leaf, who’s picked up writing after his well-publicized recovery from painkiller addiction, has scored a book deal. It’s not just any deal, however, as the former Washington State Cougar and NFL Draft bust inked an agreement to write three books. With everything he’s been through, one book wasn’t enough to handle the enigma that is Ryan Leaf.
Ryan Leaf Scores A Three-Part Book Deal That’s Sure To Entertain
Part One: Rise To Prominence. Leaf comes out of nowhere, hailing from Montana, to storm onto the scene at Washington State. Three successful season, and one Rose Bowl appearance later, Leaf’s gone. Little did we know, his best days were behind him.
We found out later Leaf may have been paid by an agent while in college. It’s also highly likely, considering his post-college escapades, he has some stories to tell about his time in lovely Pullman, Washington.
Part Two: Fall From Grace. This about sums it up.
Part Three: Rebirth. Leaf rises from the ashes like a Phoenix, recovering from his addictions, overcoming his past and riding off into the sunset with a lucrative book agreement. And that draft bust status? Gone. Thanks, Jamarcus Russell.
Since some publisher bit on Leaf’s book presentation, there’s gotta be plenty of juicy gossip yet untold. I, for one, can’t wait for the Leaf trilogy. Years down the line, we’ll be comparing his set of books to the classics: Twilight, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and the like. Here’s to a healthy does of sex, drugs, rock n’ roll and tales from an NFL Draft bust.
