NFL Picks Week 16: New York Jets Vs. Chicago Bears Is A Premier Matchup

The New York Jets vs. the Chicago Bears may be the matchup I'm looking forward to the most in Week 16. The Jets, 10-4, will travel to Chicago to take on the 10-4 Bears. Both teams are defensive minded and this game has playoff implications. There's plenty at stake here. Chicago has already wrapped up the NFC North title so they're turning their attention to a first round bye in the playoffs. New York will soon clinch a playoff spot and they're headed for the wildcard.

The Jets are the 9th ranked passing offense and fourth ranked rushing offense so you can see quickly where their strength lies. Mark Sanchez is a key component for them on offense. If he struggles, which is very possible against Chicago, then the road gets longer for New York.

The Bears are the third ranked defense in the NFL and they’re solid all the way around. They’ll first look to shut down the Jets rushing attack and put the pressure on Sanchez to beat them. With a young quarterback vs. a very good defense, I’m taking the defense.

This matchup is close enough for me that I'm simply going with the home team which is Chicago. The Jets are coming off of a physical, tiring game against the Pittsburgh Steelers and I'm not sure they can create that intensity two weeks in a row.

The Bears are two point favorites depending where you look and I’ll stick with that. The Bears will win this one at home.

Check out Gang Green Nation and Windy City Gridiron for more on the game.
