Panthers Vs. Steelers: Ben Roethlisberger Keeps It Himself For A Touchdown

We knew going in this game was likely to be a rout. With just over five minutes to go in the third quarter, the Pittsburgh Steelers are running over, and through, the Carolina Panthers, 27-0. In a game where the Panthers’ offense has never gotten into gear, the Steelers are moving at will with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in complete control.

After a pass interference call in the end zone gave the Steelers the ball at the Carolina one, two failed Rashard Mendenhall runs set up third and goal. Roethlisberger, at 6-foot-5, kept it himself, lunging forward and into the end zone. If there was ever any doubt about the outcome of the game before that, consider it erased.

Roethlisberger has 296 yards and a touchdown through the air, with a rushing touchdown to boot. Mendenhall has 60 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Mike Wallace leads all receivers with 98 yards and a touchdown.
