Not too many people predicted a shootout between the Chicago Bears and New York Jets today, considering the weather and the teams that are playing in said weather. Another stalled New York Drive set up another sweet touchdown throw by QB Jay Cutler, with WR Devin Hester grabbing a 25-yard pass in the end zone to give Chicago its first lead since the first quarter.
Jets Vs. Bears: Jay Cutler Strikes Again, But So Does Mark Sanchez
It was Hester’s big punt return that set up the three-play, 32-yard drive.
Jets QB Mark Sanchez responded less than two minutes later with a rolling-out pass to a wide-open WR Santonio Holmes in the end zone. Cutler had briefly exceeded Sanchez’ yardage total, but Sanchez is now up to 205 and has thrown his first touchdown since week 12.
These teams have combined for 510 yards with over 23 minutes to go. Hester just took a kickoff return to near midfield, and I have a feeling I’ll be typing at you again shortly.
