The fourth quarter in today’s game between the New York Jets and Chicago Bears went more like you’d expect from two strong defensive teams — the only score was a Jets field goal. The second and third quarters combined to produce nine scores, so it’s hard to say whether our defenses arrived or these offenses just got winded.
Jets Vs. Bears: NFL Playoff Picture Clears Up Somewhat After 38-34 Chicago Win
The Jets had a chance to take the lead with under a minute to go, getting the ball back with no time outs in their own territory. QB Mark Sanchez threw deep for WR Santonio Holmes, but Chris Harris made a great break to pick off the ball and lock up the win.
If the Bears win next week, they’ll earn a first-round bye and home field advantage over every team besides the Atlanta Falcons. The Jets need to beat the Buffalo Bills to assure themselves of a playoff spot.
